The address at 150 Seaport Boulevard will soon have a tower planned at the Seaport District location that is currently home to Whiskey Priest and the Atlantic Beer Garden. According to Cronin Development, this will be an outpost of the St. Regis luxury brand.
This premier development is slated to be a tower that houses 114 condos and will scrape the Seaport’s skyline with 22 stories. Work is expected to begin with a groundbreaking this fall. A completion date of late 2020 is projected for opening. This projected opening date will mark a close to the lengthy negotiation on proposed plans for the project. Specifically, the Conservation Law Foundation which is an environmental group had agreed earlier this year to throw out a pending lawsuit against the development in exchange for funding in the amount of $13.1 million. These proceeds would sponsor a public dock, waterfront park and children’s programming.
The foundation had also opposed the developer’s plan on zoning issues due to expressed concern over the public’s access to the waterfront. Today, as it stands the condos will be married to the access of the luxury services that are provided by the St. Regis brand. This includes concierge and butler service, amenities such as a swimming pool, health club, spa, library as well as a unique “golf-simulation” room.
The selected design group for the building itself is Elkus Manfredi. The intended design was meant to mimic a sail given the waterfront location. Actual design was provided by the late Howard Elkus who recently passed a few months ago.
Sales are expected to launch this fall as we approach the groundbreaking time period.
